Save the Magic Homeschool Collective will open its doors this fall. We’re collaborating with local businesses and creative educators to offer our homeschoolers a diverse and enriching experience.
Details:
Our program is open to upper-elementary students—specifically, those entering grades 2 through 5 and aged 7 to 10 as of September. We begin the first week of September and finish at the end of May.
Schedule:
We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM at River Farm in Alexandria, VA. An optional Community Day is offered on Wednesdays.
Classes:
With support from local partners, we offer movement, art, and nature-based classes. In-house offerings, such as gameschooling, provide additional opportunities for collaborative learning. This year, classes may include yoga, handicrafts, theater, current events, and a naturalist-led course.
Gather and Grow Community Day:
This relaxed, optional day provides a flexible space for families to connect, collaborate, and explore. With open centers and self-paced activities, students can engage in creative projects, independent work, or simply enjoy time with peers. It’s a welcoming environment that fosters both learning and socializing, strengthening our community bonds. Parents join us this day.
Tuition:
Tuition is yet to be finalized, with a goal of keeping it under $500 per month for the nine-month school year. We aim to offer financial assistance as needed. Tuition will reflect costs associated with rental fees, teacher salaries, materials, and other business expenses.
